This Privacy Policy explains how Lira ("Lira", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the Lira iOS app.
Lira is an EPUB reading app that lets you import books, read them, save reading progress, bookmarks and highlights, create or upload character images, generate scene illustrations, and purchase Spark credits for image generation.
Information We Handle
Information stored on your device
Lira stores the following information locally on your device so the app can work:
- Imported EPUB files selected by you
- Book metadata, such as title, author, cover image, and date added
- Reading progress, last-read location, bookmarks, highlights, and inline image placements
- Uploaded character images and AI-generated images saved in your gallery
- Image names, prompts, selected art styles, and related book or chapter context
- Reading goal and daily reading timer progress
- Text-to-speech speed and EPUB display preferences
- Spark credit balance and purchase-processing markers
- A local Keychain secret used to protect the integrity of the Spark credit balance
- Legacy Spark credit information may be read from Apple's iCloud key-value storage if it was saved by an earlier version of the app
This information is used to provide the app's reading, library, gallery, image generation, reading goal, and Spark credit features.
Information sent for AI image generation
When you use Lira's AI image generation feature, we send the information needed to create the requested image to our AI service providers. This may include:
